Emergency aid to IDPs in partnership with local organizations
Sub-grants to ten local organizations in Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts: humanitarian aid for displaced people plus development of the organizations themselves - supported by the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.

Roles in the project
Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF/OCHA)
The project "Provision of emergency assistance to internally displaced persons in Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions in partnership with NGOs and volunteer groups". Foundation's annual report 2023, pp. 42-43; expenditure table on p. 62.
ICF "Friends' Hands"
Sub-granting, training and mentoring of ten local organizations, and direct distribution in the communities they did not cover (annual report 2023, pp. 42-43).
Small civil-society organizations in Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts were receiving thousands of displaced people, but did not always have the resources or experience to deliver aid systematically. Supporting them meant helping both the people and the organizations at once.
What we did
The local organizations assessed the needs of displaced people in their communities, including through ten focus groups with the most vulnerable IDPs and local authorities. Each organization designed and ran its own mini-project: from integration camps and psychosocial support for children to digital and children’s zones in the villages of Rudkivtsi and Struha and an open support centre in the Bratslav community. Through the partners, 1,080 cleaning kits, 2,000 family hygiene kits and kits for collective centres, people with special needs and children under two were distributed, reaching 7,332 displaced people (annual report 2023, p. 42).
In communities the partners did not cover, the foundation assessed needs itself and delivered directly: 220 cleaning kits, 23 kits for collective centres, 300 family and 1,297 children’s hygiene kits, for 2,526 displaced people (p. 43).
Funding
In the foundation’s 2023 expenditure table the project carries 22,052,780.00 UAH from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (p. 62).
